PwnCNC Advanced CNC Conversion Kit

Upgrade a compatible CNC machine with a prewired MASSO G3 Touch control system, closed-loop motion, expansion ports, and industrial-style electronics.

The Advanced Conversion Kit is designed for CNC owners who want to replace outdated, unreliable, or limited factory electronics with a more capable, serviceable, and expandable control platform. It can modernize many hobby-class and prosumer machines or provide the electronics foundation for a custom CNC build.

Installation Documentation

Our Conversion Kit Knowledge Base covers prewiring, grounding, motor setup, homing, first power-on checks, and product-specific troubleshooting guidance.

Before ordering, review What to Know Before Converting Your CNC Machine, especially if you plan to reuse existing motors, couplers, wiring, or switches.

Installation Responsibility

This conversion kit is a customer-installed product. PwnCNC provides published documentation and general product-specific guidance for the PwnCNC components included with the kit.

Machine-specific fabrication, rewiring, mounting, calibration, homing configuration, and third-party component integration are not included. Customers requiring hands-on installation should work with a qualified local CNC technician or electrical integrator.

Production Time

These kits are made to order. Typical production time is approximately one to three weeks before shipment. This is an estimate and may vary based on configuration, staffing, and component availability.

complete kit

this kit will save you a bunch of time in wiring up the masso, the kit worked right out of the box and made upgrading my DMC2 mini a breeze.

Great Kit

This kit has made a cnc router with very poor electronics and a fantastic mechanical side a production machine.
There is a small issue with one of the cable lengths but a workaround has been provided. It’s still worthwhile getting this kit to make a good machine great.

Excellent Upgrade

The conversion kit is an impressive upgrade for any CNC machine. I have a Shapeoko 5 Pro 4' x 4' machine.

Replacing the controller and electronics was very straightforward. It's worth noting that there are no instructions included in the kit - it's intended to convert any CNC with Nema23 motors to a PwnCNC powered machine. Despite the lack of machine specific instructions, it was clear from all of the connections how to wire the machine to the new controller and power supply. Support quickly got my few questions answered and I was up and running again quickly (I think the conversion took about 6 hours).

The lack of instructions is not a downside - there are so many options for how a CNC machine can be configured that creating documentation would be a daunting task. As I mentioned before, support answered my questions quickly and solved my problems on the first go around. Any machine specific issues are going to be easy to deal with.

The Masso controller is leaps and bounds ahead of what I previously had. Although there's a bit of a learning curve, the community and support are there to help out. With just a change to the post-processor, I'm seeing a huge quality improvement using the same CNC bits and wood from the same board.

The table the CNC sits on is now the limiting factor in how it performs.
